Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The fusion of Aquitaine, Limousin and Poitou Charente, the region’s
capital is the cosmopolitan city of Bordeaux.

Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Named by the Romans due to the abundance of water throughout the region with its many rivers, canals and long shoreline offering some of the country’s best beaches backed by huge sand dunes and the sweet scenting pine woods of Les Landes.

Inland there are many variations to the countryside; neolithic settlements, picturesque fishing harbours and marinas, golf resorts and elegant towns. Aquitaine remained part of the British Crown for over 300 years culminating in the 100 year war but these days Brits are very much welcome in the world’s most famous wine producing area.

Biarritz is one of the Atlantic’s most chic and popular coastal resorts with its art deco promenade and elegant architecture.
